5 most common mistakes in eyelash care

The appearance of eyelashes is crucial for many of us like eyebrows form the overall look of the face, but it’s not just about looking beautiful with magical eyes. Eyelashes have a much more important function – to protect our eyes.

How to make the eyelashes not break, not be weak, and not fall out? The answer is routine. Setting the right routine in eyelash care is key. Let’s review the 5 most common mistakes some of us make and how to avoid them.

  1. Makeup removal mistakes

Makeup, including mascara, leaves a stain if not removed properly. Aggressive makeup removal leads to damage to individual eyelashes and irritated eyelids. Always make sure you have the right makeup remover that doesn’t burn, doesn’t pinch, and gently removes makeup. Makeup remover should be applied gently, from root to tip, or in gentle circular moves, and thoroughly to remove all makeup residue. For waterproof mascaras, it doubles the work.

  1. Frequent curler use

Like hair, eyelashes need proper treatment to stay strong and healthy. Use eyelash curlers sporadically and preferably before applying mascara, as curling your lashes after applying dried mascara will damage your lashes.

It is better to use slow and gradual pressure when using the applicators.  Using the curler breaks the lashes into curl, the slower the squeeze the less damage the curl will cause.

  1. False eyelashes

Applying false eyelashes to lengthen or thicken them damages the natural lashes, leading to permanent loss in the long term. This is especially so if the procedure is not done by a professional or is done too often. If you want false eyelashes, take breaks between procedures, give them time to regenerate, and choose professionals who use gentle techniques.

  1. Old mascara use

We all know it, mascara that’s dried out or been sitting in your makeup bag for so long that you can’t even remember the last time you used it. Mascara has a longevity of about six months once opened. After that, its ingredients can change their chemical composition and gradually form bacteria, causing irritation, redness, itching, or even eye infection.

Changes in the consistency of mascara lead to an uneven application and a heavy, clumpy look to the lashes. Even if the mascara is new, check the formula to ensure it is of good quality, if the formula is of poor quality, it’s the same story as old mascara.

  1. Lack of nutrition

To keep lashes growing strong and healthy and to renew them naturally, use an eyelash serum, apply it daily to give your lashes hydration and proper nourishment. Spacelash serum contains peptides that nourish and strengthen the eyelash follicles, which then fall out less and are noticeably healthier. Their produce decreases with age and therefore it is good to supplement them.

Use Spacelash regularly once a day and the results will appear after 6 weeks, the serum is also free of hormones and parabens compared to competing brands, and its formula is vegan. In short, the best for your lashes.
